Changes to Delta Dental insurance

Dear friends and patients with Delta Dental Insurance,


Many of you have been our patients for a long time, and you understand our sincere, personal commitment to caring for your oral health. We are dedicated to offering you the finest care without shortcuts or compromises. We believe in our patients' autonomy to make their own health care decisions, based on their individual needs and priorities, not based on the insurance company’s preference.


In order to continue doing so, we will be leaving the Delta Dental provider network, and Delta will consider us as a “non-participating” or “out-of-network” doctor.

This change does not necessarily mean you need to leave our practice, and it is our hope that you will decide to stay. We will continue to submit and support your insurance claims, as we do for all our patients. Unlike medical insurance. out of network dental insurance still pays a significant amount for your dental care.

Delta Dental Premier - We will continue to be in the network , nothing will change

Delta Dental PPO of MA- Starting July  30 we will be out of network. We will need to collect the full amount of your service fee for each appointment on the day of your visit, we will file the claims for you, and Delta will send you a check to reimburse you for some or all of what was paid to us (based on their fee schedule). For exams and cleanings, you should receive back 100% of what you paid. 

Delta Dental PPO Plus Premier- We will be in network through the premier network. Exams and cleanings will still be covered at 100% your copays for procedures may go up.

Delta Dental of States other than MA- PPO plans will be out of network on July 30 and Premier will remain in network. We will file the claims on our patient's behalf, The patient will pay the anticipated co-pays and Delta will pay us the remainder. Your copays may go up by 10-30%. Please verify with your plan that you have Premier or out of network benefits and that the plan will assign us your benefits (meaning they will pay us directly). 

Delta Dental EPO- Starting July 30: Unfortunately, most patients have no out of network benefits so they will not be reimbursed by Delta for any service provided in our practice.

Pediatric Plans- Starting July 1: Most are EPO, and have no out of network benefits. If your plan has a high deductible that includes preventative, (in other words, you are paying for cleanings) nothing will change. You can continue to come to us and we will continue to honor the insurance fees that you are currently paying. 

MA Public Employees - We are staying in the network, so nothing will change.


We appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us to provide you and your family with the best possible dental care. 

Dental insurance companies have increased the pressure on their “in-network” doctors to limit or compromise your care. Delta Dental’s business practices in particular are currently a target of several class action lawsuits, including one by the American Dental Association.

By leaving Delta’s highly restrictive provider network, we will have the freedom to continue providing you with the excellent, personalized dental care you deserve and expect.
